Make family fun healthy fun

When was the last time you had some serious fun with your family? When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?

Fun isn’t just great fun. It has been proven to make you feel good. That’s right: Spending time together doing things you love can make you and your family healthier. Now, there’s a good reason to put fun back on your to-do list.

Turn off the computer and turn on the fun

  • Head for the park, run around, get on the swings, climb trees or play a game of basketball, kickball, volleyball or hide and seek.
  • Want to cool off? Head for your community pool and splash around.
  • Walk around the neighbor playing “I spy”.
  • Bring out your hula hoops.
  • Get on your bikes and ride around.
  • Go rollerblading.
  • Play your favorite music and teach each other dance steps.

Help your heart and lungs work better and relax and de-stress. Look for laughs:

  • Watch a comedy
  • Read joke books
  • Play a board game
  • Bring out funny pictures or videos
  • Talk about funny things that happened

Physical activities do double duty. They help you keep your weight down and stay healthy.
